Health Education and Promotion: Our health educators improve the County’s health through direct outreach and education about the risks to good health.  They address disease and injury prevention by involving individuals and community organizations in learning about and implementing community-driven prevention strategies.  You can view educational material and find community resources by visiting their page.

Epidemiology and Assessment: This team analyzes and interprets data to provide the Health Officer and the Board of Health with an understanding of the health issues in our community.  By knowing what the most pressing issues are and using science to understand the factors that can cause them, we can set the Health District’s work priorities.  This team also supports our managers in their program planning and evaluation.  Visit their page to see the health and population data that informs the work Public Health does for Kitsap County.

Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response: This team works with local, regional and state partners to ensure that the Health District is able to respond effectively to public health threats that might arise from any kind of natural disaster or other emergency.  You can learn more about what they do to support our health during emergencies by visiting their page.

In addition, visit our Information for Health Care Providers page which provides guidance on reportable conditions, communicable diseases and information about the response activities that may be needed by health care providers in the event of public health emergency situations.  You can also access archived Provider Newsletters and an on-line version of the Public Health Information Binder for Providers.
