STEP 1.

Ready to Start?

Call the Health District at (360) 337-5245 and we will get started right away on certification for your business. We will send you an enrollment package and schedule your on-site consultation visit.

STEP 2.

Free Assistance: The Consultation Visit
  • How can I save money on environmental management?
  • What new pollution control technology is available for my business?
  • What are some of options for reducing regulatory burden?
  • What are the state and local waste management requirements and does my business comply with them?
  • How can I reduce liability

These are some of the questions that businesses get answered with an on-site consultation visit from a Health District Pollution Prevention Specialist. The visit is one of the benefits for prospective EnviroStars members. Visits are scheduled at your convenience and take approximately 1 - 2 hours to complete. Following the visit, you will receive suggestions on how to improve your business’ environmental performance. You choose what suggestions are most appropriate and that you would like to implement at your business. If you choose to implement any of these suggestions, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement from the Health District.

voucher incentive program

The Health District’s Voucher Incentive Program (VIP) offers rebates of up to $350 for qualified pollution prevention expenses. Through VIP, a business can request a rebate for qualified expenses on waste disposal, new pollution control equipment, or waste testing. VIP will rebate 50% of the expense, up to a total of $350. To qualify, the expense must be a result of suggestions made during a consultation visit with Health District pollution prevention staff. To schedule your consultation visit or find out more about VIP, email us or call (360) 337-5604.

STEP 3.

Pollution Prevention Ideas: The Worksheet

The EnviroStars worksheet helps prospective members identify pollution prevention (P2) opportunities best suited for their business. It’s also where you establish a P2 goal for the year. You decide how aggressive a P2 goal you would like to establish. EnviroStars only requires that you have one. The more you accomplish the greater the potential for reaching the higher star levels.

STEP 4.

Certification: Get Noticed!

Once you complete the worksheet and have the site consultation visit, a Health District specialist will determine the star level (2-5) for your business.

A welcome package containing various EnviroStar promotional materials will be provided to help you share your environmental success with your customers.
