permit information

A permit is needed whenever there is any work on a drainfield in Kitsap County. Depending upon the type of work being done determines the type of permit that may be required. The different types of permits include:

  • Connection Permit
  • New Installation Permit
  • Repair Permit
  • Alteration Permit

A permit may be taken out by either the "Home Owner" or a "Licensed Septic Installer". Note: the Health District will only issue a permit to a homeowner for a standard gravity system. The homeowner must be able to demonstrate competency in on-site sewage system construction.
