ONSITE SEWAGE PROGRAM

 

testing & certification

If you wish to become a Certified Operation & Maintenance Specialist or Onsite Sewage System Installer in Kitsap County the following requirements must be met:

  • Contractors Exam with a minimum passing score of 70%.

    In order to take the exam please complete the application for contractor examination and submit it to the Health District. After the Health District receives the application and appropriate testing fees you will be contacted to schedule a testing date.**

  • After passing the exam the applicant must provide the following information in order to complete their certification process:

    Pay the initial certification setup fee **

    Provide proof of a valid Washington State Contractors License.

    Provide a good and sufficient bond running to the Kitsap County Health District on a form approved by the Health District in the sum of $4,000.00 dollars or an amount required by the Department of Labor and Industry.

    Provide proof of insurance being maintained in full force and effect and shall include the Kitsap County Health District named as an additional insured.

  • In order to maintain your certification the following criteria must be met annually:

    Complete a minimum of one continuing education credit per year (six contact hours) of approved onsite sewage related training.

    Pay certification fee's annually **

    Renew certification annually **
