sexually transmitted disease
testing and treatment

Where do I go if I think I may have an STD?
Our clinics offer low-cost sexually transmitted disease (STD), counseling, testing and treatment for women and men.

Which STDs can you test for?
We offer testing and treatment for gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes, syphilis, HIV, bacterial vaginosis, trichomonas, yeast infections, and urinary tract infections. We offer diagnosis and treatment of genital warts, scabies, and pubic lice.

How do you test for STDs?
Some STDs are diagnosed using urine and blood samples. Other STDs are diagnosed by using a microscope.

Women are tested for many STDs by taking a sample using a cotton swab as part of a pelvic exam. To test men, for certain STDs, a urine sample is needed. Other tests may require that a blood sample be taken.

Who should be tested for STDs?
Anyone who is sexually active should consider being tested for STDs. Doctors often don’t test for STDs as part of a routine exam unless the client reports symptoms. Many STDs don’t have symptoms.
