COMMUNICABLE DISEASE AND TUBERCULOSIS
PROGRAM:
- Promotes health and quality of life by preventing
and controlling communicable disease.
- Performs disease outbreak investigation.
- Identifies potential sources of disease transmission
and institutes appropriate interventions.
- Provides services for prevention, treatment
and control of tuberculosis.
- Provides tuberculosis (TB) evaluations and
treatment if indicated to newly arrived immigrants and refugees
with abnormal overseas x-ray findings.
FAMILY PLANNING AND SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED
DISEASE PROGRAm:
- Strives to insure a quality, professional and
client-centered approach to individuals seeking family planning
and/or sexually transmitted disease (STD) services.
- Provides confidential family planning and STD
services (physical exams, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy
testing, contraceptive methods, HIV testing and counseling).
- Provides educational services for reproductive
health (e.g., self-breast and testicular exams, contraceptive
methods, and STD/HIV risks).
- Provides monitoring, case investigation, treatment,
control and prevention of STD.
IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM:
- Focuses on the elimination of vaccine-preventable
diseases by achieving maximum immunization coverage for specific
diseases that affect infants, children, adolescents and adults.
- Provides vaccine, materials, training and support
to immunization providers throughout the county.
- Provides easy access to immunizations for all
infants, children and adults.
- Provides ongoing education for immunization
providers and the public.
BUREAU OF CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION
SERVICES PHYSICALS:
- Provides medical examinations of aliens seeking
adjustment of status.
