OUR ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

We divide our work into three divisions that, while separate, work closely to efficiently and effectively coordinate our services for the community’s benefit.

Community Health Division

Our team of public health professionals and nurses provide immunizations, direct patient care, case management, and care coordination to vulnerable individuals. We serve as a communicable diseases resource for medical and veterinary providers and if an outbreak of a communicable disease happens, we are the "first responders" who work to find its source, contain it, and stop it from spreading. We offer health and prevention education to individuals, families and the greater community, with an emphasis on promotion of healthy eating, active living, and tobacco-free living. We also provide pregnancy and newborn support services to at-risk women through our home visiting program.

Environmental Health Division

We work to prevent illnesses or injuries that result from hazards in our living environment. We focus on these four key potential problem areas—food, water, sewage, and garbage. We also provide information and advice about dealing with other environmental problems people may encounter in daily life, such as household mold, rodents and other pests.

While enforcing federal, state, and local regulations serve as the basis for many of these efforts, our main goal is to work diligently to provide business owners and other citizens with education and support so that there is no need for enforcement actions.

Public Health Infrastructure Division

The Public Health Infrastructure Division provides support and assistance across all programs and functions of the Health District and consists of our emergency preparedness and response, assessment and epidemiology, equity, and performance and quality management programs. These teams work to ensure public health preparedness, data collection and analysis, equity, and strategic plan implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and performance improvement throughout the agency.

Administrative Services Division

Our Administrative Services Division is the “business backbone” of the Health District. The division houses the following programs and services which support the business functions of the Health District: human resources, finance and accounting, information technology, administrative support staff, facilities management, maintenance, and custodial services, public records and contracts, and public information officer/communications.
